Happy New Year, everyone!

We had a exciting 2012 with the store opening in September. It was a joy watching all the excitement on everyone's face as they entered the store for the first time. We have put together a class schedule - we have knitting, crochet, nuno felting and kids jewelry beading!

My friend Gerri stopped by and helped me warp my Harrisville Design Loom for my very first time. Thank you! I have this amazing scarf waiting to be finished! We also sell the dje handwovens kits in the store. So easy, the yarn is already measured and cut for you!

Newsletters and Blogging are all new for me. Well, being on the writing end. So, if you want to add your two cents, please do so. I promise I will get better and not bore you! Pictures will be clearer.

Moving on to the farm, on December 28th, we had our last cria (baby alpaca) of the year. He was born right after sunrise on the coldest day. Madyson is a very good mom and had him nursing before long. We thought we would stray from our normal names and decided that he deserved "What's His Name". So, as people always do, they ask, "What's His Name?"  We can know respond with "What's His Name".

Our next cria is not due until February, so we will keep you posted. Let's just hope they do not sneak out of their paddock again. One of the girl's can move her lips just right to open up the gate. Social as they are, they have to go visit with all the other alpacas. Thank goodness the gate was closed to the veggie garden....

Produce has been coming along - lettuce, tomatoes, kolrabi, radishes and carrots. Not much to sell, but enough to feed the family. Chickens have finally done molting and are back on schedule! Getting ready to order our next batch.

Got to go - Pinellas County Farm Bureau will be meeting in our studio tonight. A bit of tidying up to do. This is very exciting for me. To have been able to create a community room right here in our store. Even better, our knitting classes begin tomorrow night. So much to learn and get done.

Thank you!

Alicia
